Victoria choked up, saying, “You guys don’t know the whole story. Everyone thinks it’s my fault, but deep down, I wanted to feel
like I belonged. But that family didn’t accept me!”
Seeing her emotional state, Aiken realized his lectures were wrong. It wasn’t her choice to leave the Smith family, it was them

“Maia, Hope,” Victoria wiped away her tears upon seeing them, smiling. “What brings you here?”
Hope quickly approached her. “Vicky, I have good news for you.”
“What good news?”
“My sister has already dealt with Yuna for you. That woman got scared half to death and won’t dare to trouble you again,” Hope
said with a cheerful smile.
Victoria then turned to Maia. “Thank you, Maia.”
“How are you feeling now? Is your leg okay?” Maia asked, looking at Victoria’s leg.
“I just need a few days of rest, and it’ll be fine. I just didn’t expect to run into Yuna. Even after leaving the Smith family, she still
chases after me,” Victoria sighed. “Back home, she was known for causing trouble. My big brother is powerful, but he wouldn’t
do anything unsightly.
“Everything changed after Yuna entered the picture. She acted like a caring sister–in–law, but she targeted me at every turn. I’m
not one to back down, so I fought back. Her embarrassed state back then was quite amusing.”
“Vicky, you were impulsive today. You were alone and injured. Yuna might have been dirtied and messed up, but thankfully,
Aiken rushed in to save you. Could you imagine if Aiken didn’t act and Yuna teamed up with her people to bully you?” Hope said

it earnestly, also speaking up for Aiken..

Victoria remained silent with her head down. Maia chuckled and continued Hope’s statement, Aiken rushed in so quickly. Hope
and I were at the restaurant’s entrance, we didn’t even have time to witness the heroic act!”

“Exactly. My sister and I were dumbfounded. We thought you two had planned to have breakfast together at the restaurant,”
Hope said, smiling at Maia and winking.

“I scolded you without knowing the full story. It was all my fault. Please forgive me, tigress. Also, I did save you, right?” Aiken
attempted to diffuse the situation.
“I’ve always been forgiving, but if you dare call me a tigress again, I’ll make you taste my fist! “Victoria threatened, raising her fist
playfully.
Aiken quickly shielded himself with his hands and jokingly cried, “Mercy, heroic lady!”
“From now on, you’ll call me that.”
A puzzled expression appeared on Aiken’s face. “You want me to call you ‘heroic lady‘?”
“Why not?”
“Then ‘heart stealer‘ sounds better.”

“Aiken, are you asking for a beating?”
The two of them began bantering back and forth. Maia and Hope shared a smile.
Suddenly, Maia’s phone vibrated again. It was a message from Cedric.
“Where are you, Maia?!”
Was he urging her to get to the twelfth floor quickly? Maia replied, “Mind your own business!”
As soon as she sent the message, her phone rang. Maia recognized the number all too well. Was this guy switching from texts to
a call now? Maia turned and walked to the corridor

before answering.
“Maia.”
Before she could say anything, that deep and sexy voice echoed from the other end of the phone. Indeed, calls and texts were
incomparable. Even the simple words “Maia” sounded more moving when spoken with such affection.
“I’ve been waiting for you.”
His voice had a mesmerizing power. Maia, who was already a bit confused, became even more perplexed.
“Cedric, can you speak properly?”
“Honey, I miss you.”
Didn’t that meet the criteria for “speaking properly“? However, his words left Maia somewhat baffled.

Just then, the door opened, and Hope’s voice said, “Sis, is your call done? Let Vicky rest for a while. We’ll head back to the
resort...”
Before Hope could finish her sentence, she saw the scene in front of her and instantly froze on the spot. She didn’t know what to
do next.
Continuing to speak seemed inappropriate, leaving seemed inappropriate. So, she could only
