“Il Natalie didn’t cto see me, | would go to see her myself.” Hate thought.

It was at the cast’s hotel,

“How's King’s arm healing?” Nina video-called, and Natalie irrimediately asked her.

King hadn't reached out to her for days. The last mission update had cthrough Uriah,

“It’s better. No more bleeding, Nina nodded in response. “But King’s been in a fout mood ever since,”

Natalie paused, lowering her voice as if to confide a secret to Nina. “Did he tell you why he’s upset?”

“You're in hot water, Natalie,” Nina replied sternly..

“What?”

“Remember when King got that head injury? You knew who hurt him, right?” Nina whispered back.

Natalie froze, Had King traced it back to Brian?

“I'll be the only one to tell you this, but King was mad that day! You're in for it,” Nina sighed. “He was so badly

hurt, yet you chose to keep things from him.”

“I'll call him.” After a long silence, Natalie whispered back, “I'll explain everything to him.”

“Natalie, King said it's a betrayal,” Nina sighed again.

The thought of betraying King had never crossed Natalie’s mind. He had saved her life. Without Kellan, there

would be no Natalie. How could she possibly turn against him?

“Are we nothing to you now?” Nina stared at her for a moment before asking.

“You're everything to me. What do you think?” Natalie furrowed her brow, countering Nina's question.

“But what about King? He loves you. Do you love him?” Nina pondered before turning the question on her. “King

spent a month choosing the diamond for the ring, designing and crafting it, all by himself. He said a ring made

by hand is the only one with true meaning. He even askedto keep it a secret. He loves you a lot.”

Natalie hadn't realized that the engagement ring had taken King so much effort. She was stunned for a while,

her gaze drifting to the ring box in her bag.

After a brief pause, she whispered, “I love him, too. But Nina, when you grow up, you'll understand that the way

family loves each other and that a man and a woman love each other is different.”

“Why is that? Who do you love?” Nina asked, confused.

“I...” The nalmost slipped out, but Natalie caught herself,

That deep, bone-marrow kind of love belonged to just one person.

“King’s back. You should call him,” Nina glanced down at the lobby, quickly advised Natalie, and ended the video

call.

King must have found out Brian had gone to Galactix Space Tech searching for Firewing, and King hadn't called

her because he was disappointed, right?

After scontemplation, Natalie steeled herself and dialed King’s number.

Out of her expectation, King picked up after just a few seconds.

“How are you feeling?” Natalie asked tentatively,

“Better.” King’s reply was cold and detached.

“The ring is with me. The front desk manager gave it to me,” Natalie continued, trying to maintain her

composure. “I'll give it back to you next twe meet.”

“Natalie Wright.” Just as she finished speaking, he suddenly intervened, calling her name.

Natalie was inexplicably tongue-tied, her lips pursed in silence.

“Do you remember what you once said? You said you would always stand by my side unconditionally no matter

what happened.” King said, “But you broke your promise. I'll settle my score with Brian thoroughly. If you choose

to stand with him, I'll have to remove you from Truth Group. That's a fundamental principle of our organization.”

Listening to him speak, Natalie felt a chill settle in her heart. Kellan was furious.
