Eugene looked at her with a frown. “What do you mean?”
Melanie smiled sarcastically. “Maybe you should ask Viola about this. She’s such a loyalist
to LeapCo. Even now, she’s still trying to get justice for LeapCo.”
When Melanie tried to explain things to Harvey, Viola kept interrupting her at suitable
moments to use LeapCo as an example of their victim. The way Viola described it sounded
like Burning Star had
caused LeapCo a lot of suffering.
Melanie was reminded of the night before when Eugene received Viola’s message. He had
left quickly after seeing it, and Melanie could not help giving him an even more sarcastic
look.
She put her phone away and walked past Eugene as she headed outside.
Eugene frowned as he watched her leave. He looked down after a while, and a frosty look
appeared on
his stoic face.
Melanie had gone outside to call Xander. She explained what happened with Harvey, and
Xander was
silent.
After a while, he said in a deep voice, “Harvey Grant is not a man of good character. Don’t

Melanie hesitated. “But it looks like he’s really against Burning Star. What if he continues
this attitude? I’m a little worried about it.”

Even though Xander kept telling her not to worry about this, Melanie was not able to let
this go. She
returned to the conference hall with a troubled look.
Harvey was determined not to include Burning Star in the tender, but Melanie did not want
to give up just like that.

patted Melanie’s shoulder and sighed. “Do you know how difficult it is to find a man like

Melanie did not continue this topic with Yvette. All she cared about was how to change
Harvey’s impression of Burning Star.
That safety incident was an accident she could not change because it was true that it

She did not expect to bump into Eugene and Viola together when she walked out.

Melanie turned around and did not continue going forward as she walked away.
She did not want to make things awkward.
However, Melanie did not know that Eugene took a step back the moment she left. He put
some distance between himself and Viola.
