ASHANTI'S POV.

I shut my eyes close and suck in a deep breath, hoping that when I open them again, I won't see Alpha Reagan standing in front ofanymore because as it is now, I'd be more at ease with the fact that I've started seeing things than that he has chere to stopfrom going on this date with Leonard.

Seconds later, my eyelids flutter open and the illuminated compound comes into view again and so does my mate, Alpha Reagan. I shoot Leonard a confused look before looking back at the man who has neither said a word nor taken a step away from where he is.

"Reagan." I call in shock, caring less about adding his honorific title. I take a few steps towards him and so does Leonard, who must be wondering what the hell is going on here.

"Good evening to you, My Lord." Leonard greets respectfully with a bow. Alpha Reagan replies his greeting with a dry nod and focuses his gaze back on me. He even has the audacity to smile.

"I can see you're all dressed up." He remarks, eyeingfrom my head to my toes with a smile of approval on his face. I suck in a deep breath and make sure to keep my chin high up.

If he's here to stopfrom going out with Leonard, I won't accept it. I'm ready to have a full blown fight with him this evening.

"Yes." I reply curtly. "Leonard is takingout for dinner." I say with a firm tone. I would have reached out for Leonard's hand right now if my heart wasn't beating so fast. If I had the audacity. God, I hate that this man still has this effect on me.

If he tries to stopfrom leaving with Leonard, I doubt I'll be able to object like I claimed a few seconds ago. Calmly, he pushes himself off the car and takes two steps forward. My throat closes as he draws closer toand soon, my lungs are filled with only his scent. His sweet, woody scent that travels to my head and upsets my brain cells.

"You toldthat already when we were in the car earlier today." There's a sinister smile on his face as he says that. I know exactly what he's trying to do. He wants Leonard to know that I was with him earlier today.

What a petty man! "What... what..." I stutter like an idiot. "What are you doing here?" He grins and takes another step forward. My entire body tenses and I try to beat back the maddening nervousness enveloping in its embrace to no avail. I am a nervous pile of nonsense, standing before him. He reaches for my hair and that makes my heart soar and plummet at the stime.

"Ashanti." He calls and pushes a few strands of hair behind my ear. That little contact between his fingers and the flesh of my ear makes my body vibrate like I've touched a life wire.

The soft chuckle he lets out makesunderstand that he felt it.

He knows the effect he has on me.

"Did you really think I'd let you go out on this date without seeing what you have on?" "What?" I ask, completely confused.

"You look ravishing tonight, Ashanti. That dress should thank you for wearing it." He compliments, dusting his thumb over my cheeks three times before dropping his hand from my face. The spot burns with pleasure and an observable blush spreads from the spit throughout my face. Only the goddess knows how much I'm trying to keep myself from smiling right now.

That was hot! "Alright then, I don't want to be selfish enough to take any more of your time." He looks at Leonard who's standing a few steps behind me.

Poor Leonard.

He must feel very disrespected by now.

If he says he doesn't want to takeout anymore, I will completely understand.

"Leonard, I'm guessing this is the car you'll be leaving in?" "It is, My Lord." Leonard calmly replies.

God, I feel so embarrassed. This is not how I imagined things to play out this evening.

"Good. Permitto be her doorman for now."

My brain nearly falls from my skull when Alpha Reagan walks back to the car he was leaning against a has while ago and opens the passenger seat door. He then gestures towith a hand show to get in.

I turn to Leonard and he nods in approval. My eyes go back to the crazy Alpha and bear and frown like an angry bear as I go over to the car and get into it. "I hope you have a wonderful evening." I nearly roll my eyes at him.

I doubt if I'll enjoy this evening anymore. He has already ruined m for me. This is why I hate everything for n him sometimes. He can be very annoying and unbearable when he wants to be. So annoying.

"Will you please close the door already?" I snap at him.

The foolish man blowsthree kisses before shutting the door, all in front of Leonard.

I swear this is the worst evening of my life! X
