"Your daughter?" Marian's voice suddenly shot up, her eyes wide with disbelief as she stared at Brandon and then at Theresa.

Theresa, startled by her reaction, gaped at her, completely clueless. Brandon, on the other hand, was chill as a cucumber.

"Is there a problem?" He asked.

Marian quickly shook her head, still reeling from the shock and a whirlwind of emotions.

Feeling ignored, Theresa couldn't help but tug gently at Marian's sleeve and asked with a puzzled look, "Miss, did you ever come

across my mom's drawing afterward?"

Brandon turned his gaze to Theresa, "What drawing?"

"The one that got lost, my mom's drawing." Theresa tried to explain, even making a circle in the air with her hands, "She was

playing withthat day."

Brandon looked at Marian.

Marian had regained her composure and smiled at her, "I didn’t see it. | left before you; you don’t remember?"

Theresa shook her head, "lI remember."

Marian did leave before her. With that thought, the glimmer of hope on her face dimmed once again.

Worried that Brandon might get suspicious, Marian quickly added with a smile to Brandon, "I was just coming downstairs when |

saw her sitting in the lobby, playing so adorably. | couldn't resist playing with her for a bit. Just then Mr. Daniel Crawley cdown,

and | was afraid he'd catchslacking off, so | hurried off."

Grace remembered the incident and chimed in with a smile, "Oh, right, she did cover to play with Theresa for a bit. Theresa

seemed to like her a lot."

Brandon looked at Marian, "Did you see the drawing she had, Ms. Barlow?"

Marian shook her head, "Nope."

Confused, she glanced at Grace, "What drawing?"

Grace hadn't seen the drawing either and instinctively shook her head, "I didn't see any drawing either."

Theresa pouted unhappily.

Brandon turned to her and asked softly, "What's up, Theresa?"

She shook her head, not saying a word.

Marian didn't dare stay longer, smiling and bidding Brandon farewell, "Mr. Crawley, I'm heading back to work."

Then she turned to Theresa and waved, "Little one, I've got to get back to work. See you later."

Theresa didn’t react with the sexcitement as when she first saw Marian, just giving her a glance, seemingly still unhappy.

Brandon still taught her to be polite and say goodbye, "Theresa, say 'see you' to this Miss."

Theresa hesitantly glanced at him and somewhat reluctantly said to Marian, "See you."

"Bye, kiddo," Marian smiled back and said goodbye, quickly making her exit.

Theresa watched her leave with a frown and snuggled into Brandon's arms, whispering, "She isn’t being honest."

Brandon looked down at her and didn’t rush to scold or correct her, instead asking patiently, "Why do you say that, Theresa?"

"She definitely saw my drawing," she said, clearly unhappy.

"She took the drawing out of my bag." Theresa explained, "l was even worried it would get damaged. She saw it."

Brandon frowned slightly and looked at her, "Did she open it to look?"

Theresa shook her head, "No."

"Maybe it accidentally fell on the floor when she took it out and she didn’t notice?" Grace chimed in reflexively, "The girl didn’t

seem to have anything with her when she left."

Brandon's frown deepened; if it wasn’t opened, there was no reason an adult would take a child's drawing, and Grace confirmed

that Marian didn’t take anything with her.

It was something that could have been easily resolved with a check of the security footage, but just their luck, the footage from

that tfrwas deleted.

"Was the drawing important?" Brandon looked at Grace.

Grace shook her head, "Not at all, the drawings Sophia leaves on her desk are usually just scrap paper. I'm told to toss them

regularly. Plus, Sophia didn’t seem upset when she found out it was missing; she seemed as usual."

Brandon nodded and looked at Theresa, worried that she was still hung up on the incident after so many days because she felt

guilty about losing something. He reassured her softly.

"It's okay if something gets lost by accident; we'll just be more careful next time, okay?"

Theresa nodded, "Okay."

"Let's not mess with mom's work stuff in the future, okay? If Theresa wants daddy to see, just take daddy to see it, alright?"

Brandon continued gently.

Theresa obediently nodded again, "Okay."

"That's my girl."

Brandon patted her head and picked her up to head back to the office. Passing Kent's desk, he knocked on it, "Cto my office

for a sec."

Kent quickly put down what he was doing and followed.

Brandon placed Theresa on the sofa before turning back to Kent, "Have you figured out who deleted the security footage?"
