Sophia suddenly froze in her tracks.

Daniel continued, "Or is it skid you've got with someone else out there?"

Sophia gathered herself, stood up to close the office door, and then made her way to the floor-to-ceiling window farthest from the

door. In a cool tone, she asked him, "And how is that any of your business?"

"It's about the reputation of the Crawley family, about the next generation of the Crawleys. And you are asking if it concerns me?"

Daniel's voice also took on an icy edge.

Sophia couldn't quite grasp the meaning behind Daniel's words, her grip on her phone tightening. She kept quiet, waiting for him to

finish.

"No matter whether that child is Brandon's or not, our family won't acknowledge her. The Crawley family doesn't accept illegitimate

kids," Daniel stated. "So, forget about using your kid to get back to the family. Once you're divorced, that should be the end of it.

Brandon will get married, have his own family, his own kids, and they will all be legitimate. You're a woman, a mother. How would

you feel if one day your husband suddenly had a love child?"

Sophia laughed in annoyance, "And what if | do what you just said, can you do anything about it? Daniel, right now it's your son

who can't seem to let go of me."

Daniel's voice inadvertently rose, then he struggled to keep it down, "As long as I'm alive, | won't let you or your daughter through

our doors. Over my dead body will either of you step foot in our house."

Sophia just smirked, not bothering to argue.

"Mr. Crawley," her tone calm, "Can | ask why you hateso much?"

Daniel was caught off guard. He had never pondered this question. Perhaps it was her humble beginnings, the stark difference

between her background and theirs, and her parents’ insatiable greed that made him prejudge her as a gold digger after their

wealth and status.

Her premarital pregnancy, along with her unassertive, quiet, and submissive personality after marrying into the family, all made

him subconsciously categorize her as a schemer who had bided her tto marry Brandon.

After all, she was the only girl who had unexpectedly made Brandon give up his pursuit of Yolanda.

"You and Brandon are from different worlds," Daniel finally responded. "He shouldn't be the golden boy that your family climbs

onto."

Sophia just chuckled and didn't say more.

"Don't worry, my child has nothing to do with your family," Sophia said. "You don't have to worry aboutdoing anything to your

son, or about any surprise love children in your son's future. That's never going to happen, not ever."

With that, Sophia hung up the phone, slipped it into her pocket, swiftly picked up the meeting materials prepared on her desk,

opened the office door, and walked out.

"Meeting time!"With that command, Sophia had left the office.

The others hurriedly gathered their things and stood up to follow.

When Theresa walked into the Starlight building with the police, the security didn't dare stop them.

She dragged the officer straight to the seat she had just occupied. But it was empty, nothing was there.

"Where's my drawing?"Theresa let go of the officer's hand and frantically searched, but turned up nothing after a thorough check.

Still not giving up, she specifically ran to ask the receptionist, "Hello, have you seen my drawing?"

The receptionist was baffled by her question and instinctively shook her head, "No, | haven't seen any drawing."

Confused, Theresa scratched her head, then couldn't help but glance back at the seat, feeling a mix of disappointment and

bewilderment.

The officer took the opportunity to squat down in front of her, "Let's find your mom and dad first, okay?"

As he spoke, he pulled out his phone and asked her, "Kid, do you know your parents’ phone number?"

Theresa hesitated, then reached for the officer's phone.

Seeing that she seemed to want to dial it herself, he quickly handed her the phone.

Theresa started to type in her mom's number, but after pressing "1", she stopped and hesitantly looked at the officer.

"What's wrong, kiddo?" the officer asked promptly.

"I wanna call, HandsUnkie," she said quietly.

The officers exchanged glances, figuring he must be someone she knew, and as long as they could get her to her family, it was all

good, so they nodded, "Okay."

Theresa then looked at the phone again and slowly keyed in Brandon's number.

She had seen it when HandsUnkie gave his business card to Grace.

The card had been left on the coffee table, and she had stared at it for ages, memorizing the number by heart.
