"I expect you too." vel "Let's go!" Brax mutters. He gets in the driver's side of the car that's waiting for us. I slide into the passenger seat and look back over my shoulder at my mate. He hated this.

"You good?" Brax asks as he starts the car.

I nod, keeping my thoughts to myself.

He doesn't say anything else, but stops the car periodically to get out and check the ground. It probably would have been easier if we just went on foot.
