Storing what looked to be the fourth and final fragment needed for him to view the memory in its entirety, Valyr began to make his way back to where he had summoned the five boars.

Sending them a message through their connection to corral the primitive humanoids for a bit longer, the young man went ahead and took a look at his notifications, commanding the system to bring up a screen before him.

Ding!

Reading through the list of notifications he had received, Valyr nodded in satisfaction once he saw that he had finally completed the objective from the quest Ryvrthe had given him.

Though, as he continued to read through them, his gaze eventually remained fixed on the notifications below the ones related to Ryvrthe's quest.

'What the…' Intently looking at the notifications, Valyr briefly stopped in his tracks, feeling a bit of confusion from what he was reading.

[You have completed a hidden objective from the quest: Gates of Enlightenment' Trial (4).]

[Slay all quadrant leaders (4/4)]

[You have obtained a special reward.]

[This reward can only be accessed once one enters the Gates of Awakening.]

Scratching the back of his head as he continued to read these notifications, Valyr eventually asked himself a question.

'Isn't that quest already complete, though?'

Of course, it did not take long for him to check that the quest in question was indeed already complete.

From the authority level requirement it needed to the specific number of kills he had to accrue, all of the objectives needed for the quest to be considered completed had already been done so quite some time ago.

After all, if it wasn't, then the other four wouldn't be taking the trials of the Gates of Awakening at the moment.

Fortunately, after reading the list of notifications a couple more times, the young man eventually cleared up his confusion.

"Ah. A hidden objective," muttered the man, wryly smiling as he thought about how it took a while for him to notice such a tidbit of information.

Then again, it wasn't like he didn't know anything about hidden objectives.

If anything, he and many players from his previous life knew quite well what hidden objectives were, considering them an additional jackpot that would apply to the rewards they got from their quests.

Though, as their names implied, such objectives forced one to experiment within the scope of the quest to get a chance at completing one.

Then, there was the problem that not all quests had hidden objectives in the first place.

All in all, hidden objectives were incredibly rare in nature, as well as something that only became more and more difficult to complete the harder the quest was.

'I guess the fact that I haven't claimed the rewards from the quest yet more or less meant that the quest was still considered to be in-progress,' thought the young man to himself, faintly smiling at the thought.

'I definitely lucked out on this one, that's for sure.'

Reading through the system's messages a few more times for clarification, Valyr soon let out a faint chuckle. "I wonder what kind of reward I got from completing it?"

"After all, completing a hidden objective in an A-grade quest isn't easy."

In the end, after thinking about the matter for a bit more, the young man placed such thoughts for the meantime.

Then, noticing that the primitive humanoids the boars had corralled earlier were starting to trickle back in, Valyr went ahead and hastened his pace.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Eventually, after a few minutes had passed, Valyr had arrived at where he had summoned the five boars.

Surprisingly, the boars were already there before him, causing a bitter smile to appear on his face as the five let out joyous snorts.

In response, Valyr beamed a smile at them as he took note of the fact that the boars had slightly grown in size.

Using [Superior Analysis] on one of the boars, the young man nodded in understanding as he looked at the screen before him.

'They're getting closer to reaching the peak of Rank 2, but they're also far away,' thought the young man to himself as he wryly smiled.

Briefly thinking about how the XP the quadrant leaders gave him quickly became less and less effective on the boars, Valyr went ahead and thanked the boars for helping him out as he dispelled them.

Then, taking in a few deep breaths to compose himself, a pair of dark yet translucent wings swiftly appeared on the young man's back.

"[False Wings of the Shadow Wyvern]."

Flapping the pair of wings that had appeared, the young man zoomed into the air as he swiftly made his way back to the campsite he and the others had set up at the periphery of the south district.

Thud.

Landing on both feet as he made contact with the ground, Valyr let out a wide sigh of relief whilst he dispelled the wings on his back.

After that, he took a seat around the fire pit, staring off into the distance for a bit as he gave his mind the freedom to linger.

'Alright.' Letting out a sigh after a few minutes, Valyr discarded all of the useless thoughts in his mind as he lightly slapped both of his cheeks to keep himself focused.

'Let's do this.'

At those words, the young man went ahead and took out the four memory fragments he had gotten from the quadrant leaders he had killed.

Then, one by one, he placed the fragments closer to one another, causing an otherworldly force to take over.

Fwoosh!

As if the fragments were like magnets, the memory fragments seamlessly connected with one another, prompting Valyr to wonder whether the two were even fragments in the first place.

Nevertheless, after moving the four fragments closer to one another, the young man finally had what looked to be a ticket to the entire memory he wanted to see.

What was previously a set of fragments now appeared as a glass-like orb that radiated a myriad of colors under the rays of the sun.

Aside from that, Valyr could sense a trace of higher-leveled energy deep within the orb, which undoubtedly piqued his interest.

"[Superior Analysis]."

Ding!

[Memory Orb of the Forsaken Ones] (Item)

Rarity: ???

Throughout one's life, one would create a myriad of memories. Some of them would disappear after a bit of time, while some would linger around till one lets out their final breath.

Then again, amidst the everlasting memories, there are those who transcend the existence of life itself, taking on a form that would allow it to exist long after the death of its creator.

Many names have been given to these kinds of memories throughout history, yet all of them serve either one of two purposes.

To serve as a solemn reminder for the future generation… or to serve as a reminder that the being once existed.

What was previously a collection of scattered memories has now become whole once more thanks to your intervention and effort.

Through the energy it radiates, you could sense that these memories seemed to be not the memory of an individual being, but rather, the memories of many.

However, even though these memories come from multiple beings, it seems that they all come from the same place, allowing you to obtain greater information about it than even before.

To peer through the orb and unveil the memories it holds within, all you need to do is to infuse a bit of your mana into it.

Then again, whether or not learning the information contained within these memories would be something only you could answer.

'Memory Orb of the Forsaken Ones…' Valyr repeated the name of the item as he looked through its description. 'By Forsaken Ones, is it referring to the quadrant leaders?'

Eventually, he dispelled the screen he had brought up, shrugging his shoulders as he faintly let out a sigh.

"Well, whatever the answer to that question may be, it is the reason why I collected the fragments in the first place."

Picking up the glass-like orb, Valyr stared at it for a bit before deciding to head into his tent.

Laying on the bed, the young man took in a deep breath before infusing a bit of mana into the orb.

Whoosh!

Within seconds of his infusion, Valyr was brought into the world of darkness within the memory yet again.

However, unlike before, he did not have to stay lingering within the darkness for a long time to be able to see what it contained.

Swoosh!

As a light shone brighter and brighter within his field of vision, Valyr gradually found himself within the same place he had witnessed back then through the memory fragment.

Though, from what he could infer, it seemed that the place he was in looked to be in a different part of the same place, finding no large glass tubes within his surroundings whatsoever.

Instead, what filled his vision was the sight of test tubes, documents, and multiple equipment that looked to have come from an era of technology Earth had yet to achieve in his past life.

"Alright, Aria. Record what I'm about to do and name it Experiment 342-A."

"Understood, Master."

Hearing voices come from afar, Valyr shifted his vision towards the source of the voice, eventually finding himself looking at a man in a white lab coat.

However, after staring at him for a bit more, he noticed that this person was the same person he had seen in the memory fragment.

'Wait a second…' Ignoring the words that came out of the man's mouth, Valyr continued to look at the man, feeling as if he had seen somewhere before.

Thankfully, just as the man said that the experiment would begin, the young man finally realized who the man was.

"Wait…"

"Vaughn Darkstar?!"
