Chapter 1415 Decided to Find Him

"You two should go back now. Beryl and I will watch over him. Just come back in the morning to take over," Wallis

said, letting the couple leave since there didn't seem to be any immediate issues.

Beryl's aunt didn't hesitate either. "All right then. If there's anything, just call me. I'll head out now."

After seeing them off, Beryl asked Wallis to rest on the nearby small bed for a while. She had been watching in the

afternoon and would take the night shift. Not resting all day would definitely be too much for her to handle.

Wallis slept for a while and woke up at 7:30 pm. She didn't even have time to eat her dinner before urging Beryl to

go and have her meal.

Beryl didn't want to cause trouble, so she took her phone and headed to a restaurant outside the hospital. She

planned to order food to be delivered to the ward later, so Wallis wouldn't have to wait for her to finish eating.

On her way, she checked her phone and noticed that she hadn't contacted Marcellus in the afternoon. Oddly

enough, he hadn't sent her any messages or calls either.

It was strange. She wondered if he had been busy all afternoon.

In the past, Marcellus would call her about twenty times a day, and although she didn't answer most of them, there

were still seven or eight normal conversations.

Today was a bit unusual.

Beryl stopped in her tracks, contemplating whether to call him or not. She was worried about interrupting his work

but eventually made up her mind.

She decided to make the call, but if he were busy, she would quickly hang up.

With these thoughts in mind, she found Marcellus's number and dialed it. The phone connected quickly, but she

heard a busy tone that lasted for quite a while before anyone picked up.

Just when Beryl thought no one would answer, a familiar deep voice came through, "Hello."

"Hello?" Somehow, she felt a bit flustered. Normally, it was Marcellus who contacted her, and she rarely took the

initiative to call him. Now that the call was connected, she felt a bit awkward, "What... what are you doing?"

Surprisingly, the male voice on the other end didn't sound as enthusiastic as usual; it seemed rather low-spirited,

"Sleeping." "Sleeping?" Beryl moved the phone slightly away from her ear to check the time and then put it back to

her ear, asking in a hushed voice, "Why are you sleeping at this time?"

"I'm a little tired."

"Have you eaten yet?"

"No."

Beryl didn't push further. It wasn't that she didn't want to care about him, but from his brief responses, she sensed

that he didn't want to talk.

This was unlike Marcellus's usual style. In all the time she had known him, she had never seen him in such a moody

and sullen state.

Could it be that he was upset about their meeting today? Did he not want to talk to her?

But that couldn't be right. She hadn't conveyed Wallis's words to him, and when they finished their meal, he was still

in a good mood. How could he suddenly...

Beryl became worried about him and gathered her courage to ask, "Marcellus, where are you right now?"

As she asked this question, she had already decided to find him.

On the other end of the phone, there was a momentary pause in the man's voice, "In the villa."

"Can you wait for me for a while? I'll bring you something to eat."

Marcellus neither agreed nor refused; instead, he suddenly said, "I've been drinking."

Beryl was taken aback and almost couldn't keep up with his train of thought. It was only seven or eight o'clock; how

could he be drinking? Strange, it was just too strange.

His abnormal behavior made Beryl even more worried, "Please wait for me at home, and don't continue drinking,

okay?"

From the moment, Sir. Perkins left until now, and countless people had tried to persuade him, but the only words

that really got through to him were Beryl's.

She was coming to find him, and he couldn't get too drunk and frighten her.

Marcellus obediently nodded with his phone in hand, "Okay."
