Chapter 1404 There's Someone Else Here

The car quickly arrived at the hospital. Along the way, the two of them chatted and laughed, never having a quiet

moment. After briefly glancing through some documents, Marcellus couldn't focus anymore.

With her around, he couldn't concentrate on anything. Just hearing her voice and seeing her face made him forget

about work.

As the car stopped at the hospital entrance, Beryl prepared to get off and put on her bag.

Marcellus was a bit reluctant, even though they were going to meet again later in the evening. He couldn't bear to

part with her, being clingy.

"You're leaving already?"

"Yeah," Beryl looked at the hospital gate behind her, "I'm at the hospital."

"I know," Marcellus said but didn't let go, "You're leaving just like that, without saying anything to me?"

Looking at him, who seemed reluctant to let go, Beryl was a bit puzzled, "What do you mean?"

Now Marcellus fell silent.

What did he mean?

What could he possibly mean? He just wanted to hear something sweet from her or maybe get a kiss. What else

could it be?

Unfortunately, she didn't seem to have any awareness of it at all, and her big eyes were almost filled with

questions.

He had no choice but to take the initiative. He embraced her neck and leaned towards her, whispering softly in

front of her, "Give me a kiss."

Beryl was speechless.

Beryl's face turned red in an instant, and she quickly glanced at the driver in the front seat. Although he had

voluntarily lowered his head, she still felt extremely embarrassed.

"What are you doing? There's someone else here!" She said and forcefully freed herself from Marcellus's grip.

Marcellus was unprepared and was actually pushed away. He even leaned backward due to inertia, and when he

came back to his senses, he felt uneasy.

"Did you push me?"

Beryl didn't care about what he was thinking at the moment. She quickly opened the car door and stepped out,

"Well, it's because you were being so inconsiderate."

After saying that, she didn't give him a chance to speak and directly turned around, heading towards the hospital

entrance.

The driver, who had been sitting in the driver's seat all along, was scared and covered in cold sweat. Miss. Juliet had

left, fearing that Mr. Perkins might take his anger out on him later. He didn't want to be fined...

However, it didn't happen. Marcellus stared at the petite figure until she disappeared at the entrance before

retracting his gaze. He smirked, almost mockingly, "She's quite ruthless."

The driver cautiously raised his head and asked, "Mr. Perkins, are we going back to the company now?"

"Yes." Marcellus waved his hand, not minding at all. His tone was filled with sweet indulgence that could make

people feel overwhelmed, "I've already sent her off, and now I should do some proper work."

Beryl quickly walked to the door of the hospital room. Originally, she wanted to arrive before nine o'clock because

her uncle had been keeping watch all night, and he must be tired by now, needing someone to take over. But

Marcellus had delayed her a bit, so when she arrived, it was already half past nine.

She hurriedly walked in, "Uncle Jamal, I'm sorry I'm late. You've been watching all night; you should go home and

rest."

"It's fine. Your mother came to relieve me in the morning. Have you had your meal?"

"Yes, I've eaten. You should go and have some rest at home." Beryl said as she put down her things and

approached the bedside.

On the hospital bed, Amir was still asleep, breathing deeply.

"Has my dad woken up?"

"He woke up once in the morning, did some tests, and ate something before going back to sleep. Don't wake him

up; it's better for him to sleep more, and he'll feel uncomfortable if he gets up." Her uncle said while packing up his

belongings, "You stay here and watch over him. If anything happens, contact me or your aunt, we can both come."

"Okay, drive safely."
